Empowering our community through charity
Supporting the homeless
At WeCare-KCHomeless, Inc. our mission, as a homeless outreach, is to provide life-sustaining assistance to homeless individuals in and around the Kansas City area. We do this through providing food, camp-like shelter, and basic essentials for the health and hygiene of those less fortunate. Much of our efforts support the street outreach of Uplift.org which on a monthly basis serves in excess 4000 homeless individuals with meals and basic necessities for living on the streets. But WeCare-KCHomeless, Inc. also supports weekly, outlying homeless”camps” outside the reach of Uplift with meal preparation, clothing, and basic necessities. The need is great! Actually, it’s beyond great!!
Providing Life-Sustaining Essentials
Your support of this mission will actually provide life-sustaining essentials (meal prep, used clothing, camping essentials, basic medical, and hygiene products) to the most vulnerable population here in Kansas City.
100% Donor Funded
We are exclusively donor funded and 100% of funds received are used toward the purchase of food and essentials for living on the streets. WC-KCH is a totally volunteer based community service and has no paid staff.
Your financial support, as well as used clothing (socks, underwear, tshirts, coats, rain-gear), camping essentials, basic medical and hygiene products are essential to the success of our mission.
Independently Operated
WeCare-KCHomeless, Inc. is independently operated and is not affiliated with any government, church, or religious organizations. It’s sole purpose is to provide life-sustaining support for the most vulnerable in our community.
There are so many worthwhile charities doing incredible work and WeCare applauds their missions, but equally, is there anything more human than caring for another human being?
Your donations in 2023 helped WeCare-KCHomeless, Inc. with preparing and serving over 6120 hot meals for our homeless brothers and sisters living on the streets here in the metro Kansas City area. Additionally, please review the items on this site for any possible items you are able to purchase/donate to assist these individuals with basic necessities for life on the streets.
Already through the first 6 months of 2024 our meal prep’s and servings have increased by 12%, as compared to the first 6 months of 2023, to just over 3,416 meals. And, our list of cooks and volunteers preparing and delivering nutritious meals 5 days every single week has grown to over 60 volunteers. In addition, WC-KCH has found employment for 5 of these folks and three have moved from the woods and into stable housing.
But most importantly, the WC-KCH volunteers have offered their friendship, a welcome conversation, and shown our clients the human dignity which this population rarely gets.
So we can’t begin to express our appreciation to all of you.
Thank you for your generous support. You are truly making a difference in these people’s lives.
Special thanks to The Church of the Nativity, St Michael’s, Advent Health & Korn-Ferry Golf Tournament, and so many more who direct their excess food to WeCare & Uplift. And of course your generous financial support is key to the mission of WC-KCH, Inc. We simply couldn’t serve these clients without you. So thank you!
Please consider joining WeCare-KCHomeless, Inc. mission as a $10/month donor, and we ask only $10. We in no way want to take away from your other charitable contributions. WeCare-KCH is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization.
